The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV is a tool psychiatrists use to make diagnoses.
I'm suggesting this addition for
😛
CAMERA ADDICTION DISORDER
A maladaptive pattern of camera use causing impairment or distress.
With
* (1) Tolerance: A need for markedly increased use of camera to achieve intoxication or desired effect.
* (2) Withdrawal:
The characteristic withdrawal syndrome: Craving, thinking about the cameras day and night, sneeking to the dry box to fondle the camera in the middle of the night...
* (3) The camera use is often taken in larger amounts or over a longer period than was intended (loss of control).
* (4) There is a persistent desire or unsuccessful efforts to cut down or control camera use (loss of control).
* (5) A great deal of time is spent in activities necessary to obtain the camera, camera accessories and lenses (preoccupation).
* (6) Important social, occupational, or recreational activities are given up or reduced because of need to use camera (continuation despite adverse consequences).
* (7) The camera use is continued despite knowledge of having a persistent or recurrent physical or psychological problem that is likely to have been caused or exacerbated by continued shooting. (adverse consequences).
