Obsolete already. I've actually gotten rid of all my cameras, now I just look for pleasing photos of similar-looking kids on the internet, then tweak them in Photoshop, print and hang.

Cool.
This isn't the ability to alter focal length in software that I've predicted here a few times. But it sure looks like Adobe is pretty close to freely manipulating depth of field in software.

This is getting crazy, what is next? I bet you will be able to recompose your shot in software in the future. Something similar to Sony sweeping panorama, you'll just have to take 360 "sweep" with your camera and then you'll be able to choose any angle and any composition and aperture from the comfort of your desk. Or even better the camera will choose the best composition, focus etc for you.

There's nothing sacred about how we take pictures, whether that's film, digital. or whatever. Technology creates new ways to make images. That's all that's going on here.

No, soon we will have PEFC's (personal electronic flying cameras) that we can deploy to take our photos for us. We, from the comfort of our chairs, will be able to alter the image to our liking. Anybody see Wall-e?

I am all for new technology, but what I don't like is this trend of moving away from making decisions at the time of capture and leaning heavily towards the post processing.
I hate when my friends (who are not into photography) assume that any good photo of mine that I upload online must have been massaged in photoshop for hours.
Now that we will be able to adjust focus in PP there is not really much left that can't be done in software.

I agree, but don't we have too many crutches already, we'll soon forget to walk, ha,ha.
That is why I keep returning to B & W film and rangefinders, simplicity.
