general consensus on some boards is that rff is now a 'leica' board and that we never discuss classic rf anymore, or at least not as much as days past. we are seen as affluent in even this economic turn down.......

I must admit I do not tour the "boards" you are refering to, Joe, nor even know who they may be. But my feeling has always been and continues to be that RFF is a great success. The statistics speak it.
With time I have learned that not everything shines, nor I myself am a best boy here, but there is no doubt that RFF is a tremendous success.
Slandering, I mean outside hostyle slandering, is only a comfirmation of RFF success and will deepen with RFF progress, not by migrating posts.
Another sign of its success is the high emotional involvement of many of the members, including me, which sometimes make us touchy and unsymphatetic for a while. Thus sometimes some of us misbehave, or seem to misbehave - yet the overall balance is what really counts. Raid is a fine and veteran member. He has carved his own place here, a place which gained reckognition and respect. At due time he will continue with us. Who among us doesn't need from time to time to get out of the cave and ventilate the bones ?
We are also very emotional and touchy in our posts. It cannot be otherwise as we are both a true international forum and a highly democratic one as far as freedom of speech is concerned. We are not an aristocratic Brittish gentlemen club, and to my personal opinion, besides the due campaign to civilize our talk, we should have a measure of tolerance for "rant". And we do have it. We can be better, should be better, but never forget we are ok.
So keeping in mind that Joe for sure knows a lot of info I do not, I still will keep an optimistic view for the future of RFF, grow under its shadow, and let the dogs bark at the sidelines while our parade moves forward.
Cheers,
Ruben
