Well; DDX is terrific with Pancro 400! Very impressed with the film, very fine grained and great tone. Recipe I used:
DDX 1+4 9 minutes, agitate first minute then 10 seconds on the top of very minute, Ilfostop 1 minute, Ilford Fixer 6 minutes as per Bergger datasheet, rinse, and wetting agent.
This is the recommended time I was going to try. Glad you got great results.
Interesting to note the recommended time for Tri-X using DDX 1+4 is only 7 minutes. This makes me want to try Panchro 400 at 320 ISO and find out the time for DDX 1+4.
I found the pre-soak boosts the film speed. If you don't pre-soak I only got about 250 ISO.
The two different layers of emulsion seem to like to be pre-softened to get fill speed. My time for 400 ISO was around 12 minutes also. DDX makes nice negatives.
I think that is true, but I generally don't. I want to say I actually did this at 7:30 because I had just read that you should compensate and I used to do 9:00 minutes. Either way, I was really happy with this roll
