Lovely lovely lighting on your Gramps image Hogarth.
Hi Ben,
I like your shots. The beauty of film - even if imperfect, it has a draw.
The image I posted is from 2015...I have in the end sold my Bessa III. I had a Bessa IIIW also, but let that go as well, to finance other priorities. Big mistake - prices for the wide version are nuts now. Where I live now half or more of the year, I have concerns about the environment, for a lack of proper waste disposal systems.
I am going back and forth between getting the Leica Monochrom (I had one on loan from Leica and was very impressed) or another Bessa III. The issue with the MF Bessas is that for my work I would need both versions. I am done with 135 format in film, except of course my Contax T3.
I will see. In retrospect, the Bessa III and IIIW were two of the really great cameras of the last years.
I too would have huge regrets if I sold off my GF670 and 670W...
I too would have huge regrets if I sold off my GF670 and 670W. Those cameras deliver immense joy and I cannot imagine photography without them. It would be easy for me to never shoot again if lost them. Now only are these two of the greatest cameras from recent years, they are probably the last great film cameras we will see in many, many years. There are other, minor cameras that have been released, but these cameras are simply staggering in what they can produce. I've never been more pleased with spending so much money on camera gear as I was with buying these two.
