Best camera bag/case for M8 that I can take onto airplane.

Eleskin, I'm going through the same provess right now, but with a Canon system, M8 and a video camera. I'm looking at the Kata OC-84 and a previous post here as talked me out of the Lowepro pro Roller maybe.

They are both rollers but considering the amount of walking, stopping and waiting, and starting to walk again, I think a roller is better. I don't have to worry about a big bag going inside, just a Domke FX5 I think it is as the walkabout. You will tire of carrying a backpack around, trust me, whether it be while you're there or on the way. Aiprots are designed for rolling bags.

I'm not sure that I follow the logic that as a professional photographer you should have more gear or you should carry more gear than those of us who don't?

I don't believe that is KM-25's logic at all. I believe what he is saying is that as a professional who depends on his gear to make a living, he would find it impractical to carry that much gear; that the gear would get in the way rather than help accomplish the job.

I also make my living at this and I agree that TO ME this is a ridiculous amount of gear, and it is eccentric gear to boot (the Visoflex stuff is really bizarre to travel with or use at all). I mean, given the probability of getting dirt on the sensor, the last thing you want is to be changing lenses a lot especially under travel conditions.

On the other hand, an awful lot of great artists were and are eccentric and if eleskin wants to haul around M8s and Visoflexes and a 50mm Summicron AND a Noctilux ANd a load of other stuff - let him have the benefit of our collective wisdom (?) regarding the best way to do so...

I don't know about KM-25 but there have been times when I have had to work with lots of equipment and I've hired people to carry bags for me. Bad back and all.
