Currently, I'd vote for the most recent Ricoh GR (digital) and Contax T3 (film).
i have always wanted one of the elph cameras...they look so cute! plus highly pocketable...and now they run around 40 bucks on ebay...i just might keep an eye open for one!
i have a nice panasonic lx3 coming to me via the pony express…
Where are you going to find APS film, and a lab able to process it?
I had the Leica equivalent, the D-Lux 4. Hated it and returned it - terrible noise and grain even at base ISO. You'd be better off with the camera on your phone.
Haven't used it much yet but like getting on with my iphone. Started an Instagram account. Like my Instagram. 🙂 lots of amazing photo's over there.
I own the LX3, it is laying around somewhere. At the time is was the best low light compact - yes, that didn't say much
Nope, at that time the best was still the Fuji F30fd/F31fd, which used to sell for more used after its discontinuation than it used to when it was new. It wasn't until the Canon S90 that the Fuji was finally dethroned.
I bought my wife a Sony RX100 when it came out to replace her F31fd, but she doesn't like the RX100 and keeps going back the F31fd instead.
The next iPhone is rumored to have a camera leaps ahead of what's available now on smart phones. That may be the death knell of compact digital point and shoots.
