Hi,

maybe it is a little early in he year but is there any interest in meeting up, maybe for a beer and some food.

We could meet in Cambridge?

Ciao

I am definately interested. I am new here (long time lurker) but the M8 just arrived today! No need to wait for warm weather and Cambridge sounds great... Shays Pub in Harvard Square for a beer and some street shooting sounds like a great afternoon.

I'm in.

I don't need to go shooting–happy to just talk cameras–but I'm fine to if that's what others want. Could be late March/early April... at least we'll have some chance of it not being frigid.

We could do both. I wouldn't mind meeting you folks, with or without shooting. But I would definitely bring the M7, just in case.

Also, I have most focal-length M lenses (28,35,50,75,90), so if someone wanted to shoot a few frames with a lens he/she doesn't own, I can bring it along. (Of course, this should not be an M-exclusive meeting.)

Patriots' Day?

The marathon messes with traffic & parking quite a bit–it's tough t get from south of the marathon route to cambridge without going a bit around.

Maybe we could have a more 'gear' and get to know meeting sooner, and then just go out shooting on marathon/patriot's day.

I live just 2 blocks from the marathon route, and local traffic is hellish on that day. So, I'll second semordnilap's suggestion.

And since this is a pretty small group (so far) we should aim for unanimous agreement on place, date and time.

My suggestion:

Place: friendly beer-and-burger type joint known to nominator. Shay's Pub in Harvard Sq. has been nominated. Any other suggestions?

Date and time: just about any Sunday afternoon for the initial (winter?) meeting.

I'll nominate a date: Sunday, 23 Jan. Not exactly random though; it's my birthday. :D

I'm open for any place–I'm in Brookline so anything is easy for me. The 23rd is no good for me, though, but any Sunday after should work fine. Sorry to miss your birthday, Harry!

It occurred to me that Harvard Sq. parking would be a bear; Brookline sounds more doable. Suggestion for a venue?

And I'm at an age where I would like to miss some birthdays, so, no problem.

I live in Brookline (Coolidge Corner) so Brookline obviously sounds great to me, but I am ok with downtown, Cambridge, etc. Patriots day sounds good, Jan 23 would work too. Also, photos or no photos is fine with me too. However, if someone is volunteering to bring lenses to try... I would love that. I just got my M8 this week and only have a Ziess 35 so different focal lengths would be fun to try (e.g. 28, 75, etc.). Anyway, it all sounds like fun to me and I am open to location and dates.

Regards,

Kevin
