I've been a steady XP2 user for a number of years until supply got spotty for a while (when Ilford was changing hands vis-a-vis Harman Technology), and I started using BW400CN, which I've actually come to prefer just a bit. The fact that, here in New York, the per-roll price is exactly $1 cheaper than XP2 ($4.29/roll...can't believe what you guys in Oz are paying! 🙁) doesn't hurt either.
I do believe Rochester got blindsided by a run on purchases recently, and were slow on the uptake filling the pipeline. Given their desire for squeaky-tight JIT inventory these days, this seems to happen a bit more often than in the past. I usually buy the stuff two bricks at a time, minimum, as a result.
Edit: Looks like BW400CN jumped a bit in price lately, by about 50 cents; XP2, however, has jumped commensurably.
