Camera and Coffee

My humble contribution... Normally, a mug that says "Frohe Weihnachten" would be out of season for April 5th, but with all the snow that fell over the last day, it seems appropriate!

Technical details:
  • Voigtländer Bessa R
  • Voigtländer Nokton 50/1.5
  • "Frohe Weihnachten" mug, Munich 2005
  • Tim Horton's coffee, black
  • Photos taken with Sony DSC-W1

Yeah, it looks real good. I like how the black CV lenses brass as the paint wears off. Too bad the Bessa R just shows the ugly white plastic when you bang it up!

It is proven again that a hasty job is never good. So, I reconsidered the original picture and I think this version might be better...

Nice cameras, but Starbucks and all those black hot beverages are NOT coffee!!!
I'm Italian, give me a real coffee, please... :):p

Ciao
Franco

ps: yes, somebody posted a camera near a tin of Illy coffee... That's good !

We owe a debt to Illy for inventing the modern espresso machine, but I don't want vacuum-packed beans from Italy! In a perfect world, Germans make the cameras, Italians make the coffee apparatus, and Americans roast the beans. I enjoy this world every day. :)

Pictured is Mazzer Mini grinder loaded with Peet's Espresso Forte, Isomac Tea (E-61 group head) with pour in progress, Leica M4 sporting an Elmarit 90 and SGVOO. The shot was quite tasty given the flurry of photo activity (image was composited to prevent the lens from getting splattered).

OK adep--fantastic photo!!! confess! how did you do it??? Surely you weren'tactually there...:) :)
Paul

Thanks Paul, yes, I was actually there. Paris is a really wonderful city, as are the Parisiens. I've got a few photos up on my flickr gallery.

Ahi ahi ahi, my friend Rico... Your coffee looks really good, I tasted your Kona coffee, and I like it, also, but... To make a good cup of coffee is a subtle art, not only a question of beans and "apparatus"!

Anyway, for what I can see... You won the prize for "the best virtual coffee" !!!

Ciao

Took these two of my Kiev 4a with CZJ 50/2 collapsible Sonnar today.

Very nice, Gene. That lens looks great on your Kiev. So, were either the guy with the spiky hair or the professor on sabbatical around your Starbucks today? :p

...and this is my "nervous" cup of coffee for you... Enjoy!!
Ah, the classic moka pot: no moving parts! I worry about my machine because it will eventually fail due to the complexity of motors, electrical wiring, and plumbing. For Leica fanatics, I reposted my image because of a certain embarrassment. Perhaps you can detect the fix (click here for original image). :)
