Camera and Coffee

Thanks for reviving this thread, ChrisN. Don't know why (gear lust perhaps?) but it's always been one of my favorites.

I just wanted to get a pot like this today, with the ground coffee under a sieve, how do you like it? I figure I could "preload" it and simply pour hot (boiling?) water on it, does it taste differently?

It's usually called a "French Press," at least in the U.S. Makes very tasty coffee.

Wonder what they call it in France?

Cafetiere in UK too :) makes a fine brew - uses coarser ground than filter and brews longer for fuller flavour.

Coarser sounds great, I could finally use this super old manual coffee grinder in the closet. I'll get one and report in a few days. Thanks for the replies.

yep, I can see we've been at this too long. a guy throws a great pic of a beautiful Leica up here and we yadda-yadda back and forth about the coffee. *kiddin'* but yeah, coffee press = best way to go. + grinder? even better. but then add a sweet lookin' black.Leica? and tada! you've arrived.

Wow you're right, I forgot. I just knew I've seen it before, your coffee was great! I'm exited now to drink what I drink every day brewed in a different way ;) You guys might want to check out this, that's what we sometimes use.

Sorry for Hijacking the thread, and yeah, the black Leica was sweet, too ;)

Making up a new wrist strap for my new 1953 dual-format Mamiya-6. It's a sweet shooter!
