Camera and it's EXIF data don't contain a brand or model #, but the AliExpress merchant I purchased it from ("Shop103475077 Store") refers to it as an SMVP Y600. If the manufacturer has a web site, I couldn't find it. Price was <20 USD, shipped.Very interesting! This has potential for lots of fun, and some serious stuff too. Can you tell us more about this camera, particularly what it's called? It looks like a candidate for cheap GAS, the best kind...

Thanks! I'm a little leery of AliExpress, so I'll have to do some hunting. For twenty bucks, what's not to love?Camera and it's EXIF data don't contain a brand or model #, but the AliExpress merchant I purchased it from ("Shop103475077 Store") refers to it as an SMVP Y600. On a recent trip to Choshi city in Chiba prefecture, Japan. My wife and I had a 12 minute wait at this bus stop so I drank some coffee from my thermos while holding my Fujifilm X-H1 camera (Fujinon 16-80mm f4 lens attached). My wife took the picture with my Fuji XF10 camera.

We had just finished walking along the 10km long Byobugaura cliff.
I'm standing in the shelter of the bus stop, my wife is standing out in the glaring sun and strong wind taking the picture; she's a wonderful woman!

All the best,
Mike

Ah, Chiba! When I lived in Tokyo (... 1992, lived there for two and a half months right outside of Shinagawa Old Town, near the train station...), I'd take the train out to Chiba every day to where my office was. I recall my stop was one past the Tokyo Disneyland stop, and I stopped there on the way home a couple of times ...
Good memories! Thank you, Mike!

Hello Godfrey!
Chiba prefecture is huge! Choshi city is on the Pacific coast in the upper righthand corner of Chiba prefecture; it's a 2 hour ride on express train from Tokyo station to get there. Choshi is a remarkable city with some great places to visit and things to do. This trip was my second time visitingg there this year.
All the best,
Mike

Whatever
Another snowy day here at Grey Owl. I tried my hand at shoveling the 240ft-long driveway (as we currently don't have a motorized option just yet) and it wasn't too bad. Took an hour to do. The reward was making some apple, oat and pistachio spice bread. A fresh cup of Red Rose in the tried-and-true Murchie's mug from about 1987 and overall things are pretty good (of course if it snows again it's a different story -- nah it surely wouldn't do that!). Oh and we can't forget the star of the show -- 1977 Hasselblad 500C/M, 1976 80/2.8 Planar, CFV II 50C digital back, and a chimney finder from the estate of photographer Arnold Crane.

Contax are one of those camera systems that i never got into. I need to bite the bullet at some point and try. I like the G1 and the ST very much.

The ST is a good choice. Rather heavy but small, excellent build quality and it takes normal batteries. It is my favorite of the Kyocera Contaxes.

I owned a G1 for several years. They are wonderful cameras with fantastic lenses. I had the 28, 45, and 90 lenses. I sold the system when I went completely digital. The camera has its faults, but I loved mine. I still think it is one of the nicest looking 35mm cameras ever made.Contax are one of those camera systems that i never got into. I went through most of them. Currently I have 167MT, S2 and this RX. I have a love/hate relationship with Contax - AX, Aria, G2 - those failed electronically in one or the other way, but when they worked, I really enjoyed using them.Contax are one of those camera systems that i never got into.
