Camera and Coffee

BTW, that was a bar of Spanish dark chocolate with coffee beans in the fore-ground of the last picture - goes well with espresso...

Two of the few cameras I bought new, not used: Bessa R w/ 35/2.5 Color Skopar, and a Horizon 202.

Where did you get the coffee in the last shot (with Horizon and Bessa), Roman? 🙂

Denis

Not in your home country, Denis, as you might have thought (though I always bring back some Franck or Victoria whenever I got to Istra) - it is available in some Austrian supermarkets (I think I bought it at Interspar), as it is license-packed by a company in Linz.

New Toy

New Toy

What better way to show off my new toy than to have it share a cup with little brother. This Canon 7 showed up on my doorstep the other day looking for a lens. I thought the CV 50 Nokton was just the right size so ....... And, of course with it's new eye and a proper hood, why not a family portrait.

Regards, Paul C. (P.S. -- I added a little Baileys Irish Cream to the coffee to brighten things up)

Stuart, yeah, the picture should be of a Canon body with a 135 Hektor screw mount lens.

(I identified myself as Anglo, I should have been more specific: German, so the Leica/Canon combo is quite appropriate. The 135mm Hektor part might be stretching it [literally] a bit though.)

Paul, what's the lens on the little Leica?

Hi Frank, sorry to answer so late, after you got so many other great replies. 🙂 The little Leica is, as you now know, a Canon; more specifically, a Canon IVsb with a 50mm f1.8 chrome lens and a Canon hood. All in all, a heavy little beast.

The 7 is new to me and as yet unproven in battle. It handles nicely and is not as cumbersome in real life as it appeared in pictures. The Nokton is a good fit and I'm anxious to get some use of it shortly.

A very early Xmas

A very early Xmas

This followed me home today and the better half put me on rations. That is all the coffee I am allowed per day . I think it is worth the pennance. Could not resist the M4 , 35 f1.4 and 90 F2.8. Being Canadian the Midland made lenses were even more irresistable.

OOOOHHHH THAT"S NICE!!!

Are you going to change your screen name? This is going to be a favorite camera!

"The cup is not half Empty, its next to one of the best cameras of ALL TIME!"

BTW: go to KEH's site and show your wife a Black M4 for almost $5K without lenses. That should cheer her up!

Bob exchanged a few PM's with me over this one. Let's just say I was highly supportive of my fellow RFF member BUYING ONE OF THE BEST CAMERAS OF ALL TIME!!!

Oh, I must be mistaken - I thought he got a Leica.
