Camera and Coffee

Very clean looking zoom. You did good greyhoundman. I aquired an rigid I26 not long ago as well. And I'm talkin' R-I-G-I-D!! Had to jackhammer the old grease out. But it cleaned up nice.

And I'm with Bob. The cup is just getting seasoned - primed for some serious coffee consumption. It drives my wife bonkers to watch me drink from a cup that gets like that. I've had to tackle her several times from trying to ruin it by applying soap and water!

The "seasoned cup" brought back "fond memories". I was just out of Navy boot camp and had arrived at my first duty station. Typically I was ordered to clean the Captain's office. As a dutiful new seaman, I dusted the furniture, swept the floor, and then spied his coffee cup, which, btw, was even more seasoned that the one above. I used Ajax and a lot of elbow grease and it just shined. When the Chief saw this I thought he would have a stroke. I didn't understand the culture that this is what he wanted. Needless to say, the Chief sent me home before I was strung up the yardarms or keelhauled or something equally as bad. :D

Look what was on my doorstep today:

what could it be?

Not a bad deal for $85. Its only fault is that its a little dirty (on the outside, not the glass). Im really surprised how compact it is, looks a little funny on the bessa but I think it has a cool character.

Every gardener knows the importance of careful planning before tackling the weeds and flower beds. Coffee from the appropriate cup can be helpful in this.
The sun is very strong, I might get sun stroke. It might be wiser to stay on the deck and put the awning up.
Good planning.
regards, Richard.

Captainslack;

Sounds like a good idea, if I had stood back and waited a short while I probably could have included a couple of herring gulls who seem to use that table more than I do.
At least Fred the spider doesn't drink too much or knock things over.
I hope you are enjoying similar good weather in North Carolina,
Regards, Richard.

85$? Einolu, are you serious?
Oh, you mean the strap, i guess.

heh, no it was $85 (on the eboy)! And guess what, it came with a Leitz 9cm M adapter that is worth about some $ on its own!

Very good aquisition, einolu. (Hope that coffee cup was empty... :/ )

Ahhh, fishric, a man after my own heart. And I can really appreciate your choice of "yard tools."

Wow, Fishric and Einars nice gear.

Fishric the two cameras you have are why my forum "call name" is Fedzilla.. I enjoy Russian and Japanese cameras. Is that a Canonet 28?

Einars-- I have been chasing down one of those lenses for a while now. I have seen a few go for about that price. I would also like, as an alternative, the Steinheil Culminar 85mm lens.

Fedzilla: yes, that's a Canonet 28 with a pentax lens cap. The Fed has a Zorki cap and the and Jupiter 12 in the centre automaticaly ejects it's lens cap when I move off infinity, very cunning.
While on the subject of caps, am I the last person to find out that rear caps for the Industar come free with every roll of Fuji sensia ? (See below}.
Regards, richard.

Wow, that's a new one for me, too! Incidentally, you can use a film canister as an emergency rear lens cap for an LTM Jupiter-12 (though, for long-term use it is not ideal - the black colour on the edge of the rear element might wear off); works on some Mamiya C-series TLR lenses, too!

Hey that's funny, my Canonet QL17 has a Pentax lens cap!

...and you can use the other half of the film canister as a rear caps for the Jupiter 12..

Nice! And a Tenax II is???

Zeiss Ikon rangefinder from 1938 with Compur OS Rapid shutter, 24x24mm square format (50 shots on 36 exp. roll), with 27mm and 75mm interchangeable lenses available. Same rangefinder system as the Contax, it's a great little camera to use. They were also sold with a 40/2.8 Tessar.
