Camera and Coffee

LOL Stewart, Not sure yet just strated shooting with it today. We will see later in the week.

I don't have Mothra's gear in my hands. :)
 
Mothra's rather generous, I am sure he will let you borrow it for comparison. If not, you could just start a bonfire and snag it while he's distracted...
 
The Red FED

The Red FED

I traded one of my wrist straps for this pseudo-imitation-red-lizard-skin-real-dead-cow cover made by Aki Asahi from Fedzilla_Bob. I've wanted a red FED all my life. Well, at least for the last 6 months. For anyone putting these covers on, one of the instructions at Aki's suggest putting alcohol on the glue. This lets you move it about and the alcohol dries in about 1/2 hour and the glue sets. I also didn't realize removing vulcanite could be so much fun.

Since my FED has new clothes, I had to try out all the accessories...
 
Finally got around to taking some pics of my new (to me) Minolta A5. Great little camera! I'm waiting for some tax money to come in to get the light seals looked at, which is the only thing holding me back from using it at every given opportunity.

Since I had a couple of extra frames to burn off on my roll, I added my Canonet to the mix. One of cats decided he wanted to join in as well. :D

I am glad you are enjoying that skin Gordon. I am inspired to do my FED 2 soon.

You all should see how his strap is making my Canon G2 look more like it belongs in the classic camera family. I don't have another digicam to get a snapshot of it, you will have to wait until it get's it's own cameras and coffee debut.

I think here in SoCal back in the 60's Gordon's FED would have been described as... Bitchin

sometimes I think you are just having way too much fun ! The "drape job" on the camera would even make Cristo envious.

It has been a lot of fun getting these old cameras together and fixing them. But nearly as much fun as when I start shooting with them. That is coming soon. As soon as I get the Agfa Isolette II working. But then I need to set up to develop black and white film...
 
Gordon, Congratulations on the custom camera. Nice set of lenses.

Captainslack: Seals are not hard, a few bucks for a seal kit and a little time and alchohol. Solvent, not ingestion. If the seals are brittle and/or sticky and come off on the door (or your finger) then it is time for replacement. It's just foam rubber...

Or, initially alcohol as solvent then as reward for a job well done :D
