New here...stumbled in while doing a search. I've never been hijacked by a thread before but this one grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go and after spending several hours watching pictures of coffee cups and cameras I still don't understand why?

The reason it was so cheap is because the mirror was stuck in the up position due to dead batteries. After replacing them, it works like a charm.

me too! perfect little travel tele. all early M42 Takumars are great. good solid build, no plastics used, compact and great IQ. am having more (and better spec) Nikkors than Takumars but guess which one goes to camera bag when am going travel?
