Camera and Coffee

Back in business!

After a lot of camera troubles and equipment problems, I have settled on this. As long as nothing breaks I will be using this for a while.

I'm hoping to get one of those myself soon! :D

Okay, not the camera WITH the coffee, but . . .

is a Leica Minilux taking a picture of someone drinking coffee close enough?

Here's what I laughingly call an outfit. M6TTL, old Elmar f2.8, Gordy strap, probably HP5 and some insulating tape. Oh, and Sainsbury's Costa Rican blend. One day I'll work out how this digital camera works as well :(

I don't drink coffee. And I've been too busy to brew a pot of tea.

A Zorki 5 (previously owned by Jonas), an Orion 15 26mm / 6, and a turret finder.

Much to my amusement, as well as amazement, I now have a Leica CL and 3 actual Leica lenses. I got the collapsible Summicron back from DAG today and will be giving it a workout over the weekend. Smooth as they come, blades all in thier places ;) and no haze present. Hold a flashlight up to it and there are a huge number of tiny marks on the outer edges of the front and rear elements. I've no clue what, if any, effect that will really have. It's going to be fun finding out, I think  For the small investment I've made, it would have to be pretty bad to not be worth it :D

Oh, and it will collapse fully on the CL - it just barely clears the meter, but apparently there is a little longer distance back to the one on the CL than to the one on the M5.

So here are a couple of pics (taken with my Kodak POS digital that seems to be focusing worse as time goes on :( ) of the CL, my 40/2, 50/2 & 90/4 with my Gordy strap attached as well.

2 vitos...

2 vitos...

Not technically rangefinders (in fact, not rangefinders at all) but still classics. Here's a Voigtlander Vito II my Dad gave me (the camera of fond childhood memories), to keep my Vito B company (together with a very tall mug of coffee). I love the photographs from both these little cameras with their "Color-Skopar" lenses --- sharp with slightly warmer color rendition.

Madrid, last frame on the last roll at the last evening.

Taken on Elitechrome 100 with a Contax G2 and 35/2 at f2.

I didn't intend the 4:3 crop but the lab cut it this way.
