Got my R-D1 grip-tac today, inside a small apology note and some extra material, i'm still satisfied though. I feel for those who waited months too, but, i'm still happy. Perhaps will get another skin sometime.

Ordered leather for my Canonet and SP in december (....OK I know it's not that long, but if one wants to do business he has to do it correctly, period!).
I sent numerous mails but I got absolutely no replies.
Escalated to a claimwith paypal now, but unfortunately I was too late to file the claim for the first order for the Canonet.
This makes me sorry because the guy could make a lot of money as he is virtually the only one worldwide selling pre-cut coverings for lots of cameras. OK there is Aki Asahi, but his camera models are quite limited.....
I would hate to have to try and cut from sheet-leather.
Shall I wait and hope or just press paypal to get (part of) my money back?

At this point, wait. Not so great customer service, but a nice quality product. You're past the point of customer service, so you might as well benefit from the product.

I recently ordered from both Rikuo and Morgan. I didn't know what to expect from either, and wanted to check them out. I ordered eyepiece patches from Rikuo, and two Griptac kits from Morgan. Both returned my emails quickly. Morgan answered some questions about a potential future covering within a day or two. I did the expedited shipping from cameraleather and received it right on time. Aki Asahi was a bit slower, but they're shipping from Japan, and my local post office always slows down stuff from abroad for me. Rikuo's discount on multiple orders was nice, as well as the extra patch in each kit!
Over all, I am very pleased with both. I will definitely be ordering from them again, depending on who has what I need at the moment.

I previously had a long wait with cameraleather, which I mentioned above in this thread. To be fair I should also mention that I recently placed an order on Jan 19th for 2-tlr skins and I received them today, Feb 7th. I know there's a lot of reason to be skeptical but hopefully this is a sign things are getting better.

So, you place an order with Cameraleather.
Then forget about it.
Surprise, one day is actually comes and it's perfect!
Sometimes you just deal with what you've got, and hope it turns out.

I received the kit for the old Yashicamat (meterless yellow ring) from cameraleather.com today. I ordered it on the 5th. That is 6 days ago.
He provided two back pieces, one with and one without the screw holes. there is also one blank piece that seems to be extra, but is not big enough to do any of the main panels. The hole in the top piece is 17mm, but I measure the logo as 16mm, so I may need that extra. On the other hand it may be close enough.
This is the basic VH Black Leatherette cover, not the exotic stuff you guys have been ordering. But, I think that was good service.

I just came across this thread as I'm not sure how to respond. I placed an order on 4/4, after several email exchanges, where the seller was responding within 5 mins of my enquiry. After payment was completed, there has been not a single email so far. I think I am too far out to raise a dispute with Paypal, so this is a write-off and relatively inexpensive lesson to be more careful next time.
I wonder how many of the members who posted here would have been as charitable to a Asia based supplier with such awful service.

I get the feeling that Cameraleather has made a lot of "extra" money on unfulfilled orders. But I also would guess that he has no idea of how much. I imagine an operation in complete disarray, and I'm sure his record-keeping is in a similar state.
I'm a former customer. Had some orders filled immediately. Others took weeks and weeks and required numerous follow-up e-mails.

I've given up. I'm out money and I was looking forward to the new skin. I'm done with Morgan and I'm done defending him. If you don't take care of repeat customers you are a fool of a business person. Beware ordering from him.

If Morgan is out of the "business", who else sells the coverings that he had? I loved the Levant Black leather that he had. Is it available in raw sheets?

I emailed him about 3 weeks ago asking if there were plans for a skin for the Leica M240 and he responded within two days saying they will possibly be available by the end of August.
I've also ordered three skin kits from him for my Leica's and they were all received with no hassle whatsoever.

My past experience was awful, however I will say that I ordered a standard Leica II replacement skin and it arrived in less than a week. So I'm at 50/50 but I will be placing another order in the near future so hopefully we can increase the odds a bit!

Just got another Griptac kit from Morgan. As before, emails were replied to within a day or two, and kit was delivered in five days. I even had it done in two-tone grey and black.

I'm amazed this thread is still on going. I've bought many skins form Morgan and have loved all of them. They fit perfectly and the selection is huge. I've also waited months (more than 6) with no product or no replies to emails. So if you order from him, with his huge selection, be prepared to wait. It will either come within a week or just short of never. I guess my recommendation would be to order what you want, pay with paypal and if it doesn't come in a month cancel your order and get a refund from Paypal. Don't wait too long (as I did) because Paypal has a time limit.

I've been waiting since April 2012. Is that too long?
I just emailed him again. He needs a manager there no doubt.

I ordered a leather kit for the Minolta srT-202 and Leica M3 from cameraleather.com 4 1/2 years ago and am still waiting. He quit answering my email the first few months after ordering.
In my opinion he ranks at the bottom since he takes peoples money and does not deliver..
You should not run a business if you can't or won't deliver....

Yes, that seems like a new record. I`m really sorry to say that, for me, the way out of this situation for the first order was to threaten him with complaints to whatever statal or federal authorities I would consider appropriate to investigate the case. A few hours later everything was back on track.
Second order went absolutely fine...
