Canon LTM Canon 50mm 1.4 LTM

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
I tried the Canon 50mm f1.4 but found that it didn't handle well on the small body of the "Barnack" camera's.
I much prefer the size, handling and results from the early Nikkor 5cm f1.4 (Tokyo) on my Leica II.
I took Roland's (ferider's) recommendation for the Nikkor 5cm f1.4 and find that it is "in my opinion" THE best
fast standard lens with it's small size, weight and great versatility which suits any camera and especially so when used on the small "Barnack"camera's.

Oddly enough, the Canon 50mm f1.4 lens handles fine on the Canon Barnack cameras, as the VF is more to one side on the Canon bottomloaders than on the Barnack Leica and their direct clones.

The late photographer and Popular Photography magazine contributor writer, Bob Schwalberg favoured a Canon IVSb2 body with the Canon 50mm f1.4 lens in his many camera and lenses arsenal.

I find the Canon 50/1.4 LTM balances and works well on my Canon 7 rangefinder. Excellent build quality and classic rendering. One of my fave 50's.

My cousin borrowed my 50/1.4 to try on his M3. When I get it back, probable next week I would like to remove the infinity lock screw. Which screw is it? I remember the 2 screws on the back but can't picture this screw in my mind.

Canon 50mm 1.8

I really like the look and feel of the f1.8 and carry on my MP as well as my M8. I bunch lighter and some what sharper than my Canon 50mm f1.2. I use these two and leave the 50 Cron at home.

I'll resurrect an old thread with a question. I'm considering pickup up either a Canon 50mm ltm 1.4 or a Voigtlander Nokton 50mm 1.5 vm. Does anyone have experience with these lenses on an M6? (or similar). I'd like to know about viewfinder blockage with these lenses.

Thanks!

Punkzter, On an M4 (don't have an M6), there is no obstruction at all in the viewfinder at infinity, and just a bit in the corner at the closest focus point..... but with the lenshood, there's more blockage, but i suppose you could notch the lenshood.

It's the same as Deardorff says on the M6 (not surprisingly). Great lens. I use one of the cheap screw-in lens hoods with the cut-outs
