Canon LTM Canon 50mm f/2.2

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Here's another recent one from my Canon 50/2.2 LTM.
This was with some Kodak Gold 200 that expired about 15 years ago.

I've been a bit preoccupied with my other cameras lately and haven't used my Canon 50/2.2 in awhile, but here's one from a year ago that I think shows the lens' capabilities off well.

Hi Colton, Would you mind adding some of your photos taken with this lens to the Canon Rangefinder Lens group over on Flickr? It would be great to this uncommon lens represented there and your photos with it are outstanding. Thanks!

Thanks for invite. I added 3 more to the group. Will add more slowly so I don't flood the group :D

I very rarely shoot B&W film, and this roll actually took over a year (and 2 different camera bodies :) ) to finish, but I figured I'd share a B&W image from this uncommon and IMO underrated lens.

Here's one from a few years ago. I had scanned it back then, but for whatever reason I never edited it . Rediscovered it yesterday and decided to edit it.

Super lens, I love all these shots of Americana (so-to-speak). So many of these "economy" lenses (are they were probably originally intended) are now really recognized for the true gems they are.

I read about this lens in Hamish's 35MMC blog and decided that I liked what it produced, but didn't go looking for one. One day I saw a nice one on eBay while doing a generic search on LTM lenses. The price was right so I went for it.

These shots are a little different than what has been uploaded so far. I hope you like them. Taken with a Bessa-R on TMax P3200.

Looks great. Good to see another person posting images from this lens :)
Thanks for sharing.

I finally shot a roll with my new (to me) Canon 50mm f2.2, mainly photos around my house. All of these photos were taken with a Canon IVSB2, using Kodak Color Plus 200:

Bokeh looks pretty smooth to my eyes.

Very cool. How do you like the lens so far?
Your results look great.

Thanks, Colton. I like the lens so far, although my sample (from Peter Kithingman’s collection) is pretty ugly cosmetically. But the glass is good and I like the small size. I also like the balance the lens strikes between sharpness and contrast. As your work with it shows, it seems to be particularly suited to color photography.

Yes, the lens is sharp and also has excellent color rendition. Kodak Color Plus (a modern era print film) with the IVSB2 really makes an amazingly powerful shooting setup
