Hi, I'm a first time poster that has been a long time silent member. I have aquired a Canon G10. It works fine for my digital needs, and its great having the zoom range when needed, but I like to use it like my Leica...screen off, and a 35mm viewfinder in the hotshoe. My question...is it possible to set the zoom to open to my 35mm focal length when the camera is turned on. Thanks for any help you may have for me!

The G10 has two custom settings C1 and C2. Put on the 35mm viewfinder and adjust the zoom so that viewfinder and lifeview match the most. Then somewhere in the menus you can save the settings to C1 or C2. I think this also saves the focal length. If you switch on the camera when you are in a custom mode then the correct focal length should be selected.
