Anyone ever replace a shutter curtain in a Canon RF camera with material from Aki-Asahi? The price seems really cheap for the amount of stuff you get, certainly enough to make a lot of mistakes.

I've read that the out of stock material at Microtools is too thick for this kind of camera, but would it be a better choice?

I have used for Leica curtain, great quality, much much better than whatever micro tools offered.

I haven't. I've used fabric from an old film changing bag with good results. It's very thin, which makes it a little harder to handle than thicker material, but the thinness works in your favor in a tight space like a Leica or Canon rangefinder.

That's an interesting idea, might have to see if I can find one around here and measure to see how thick it is.

Yes, Canons need thinner cloth than Leicas. See if John Goodman can get you something appropriate.
