Canonet GIII QL17

Hi,
I recently got a Canonet, shot 2 films and quite everything is working fine...
I've only one problem: the meter movement really had too much friction and I freed it up as shown here:

It's much better now, but still not perfect... :bang:
when the meter goes up to 16 (or more 🙄 ) and I put the lens cap back on it stays at 2.8 and it takes a loooooooooooong time till it returns to full up position.

How much can I loosen the screw till everything falls apart?
Is there something I can clean/lubricate/...?

Who was it that proved that a little while ago!

There is not much play in the bearing screws. If you loosen too much, the meter will be basicly junk.

I don't think it's the cell (not yet)
-when the meter stays at 2.8 with the lens cap on and I move the aperture ring bypassing the cell the meter still stays..... at 2.8... 😡
or doesn't it bypass the cell??
Is there a spring pulling it back?
Any ideas?

Would someone do that using an alkaline battery, so that the meter would expose "right"?
I'll examine the camera and look if I can find out the right screws... 😀

I think I found the screw holding the pot..... reeeeeally accessible (like everything else in the canonet 😀 )
Anyway... it's definitly the meter having too much friction (in or outside the pot...),
I pushed the indicator up to 16 with a screwdriver and when it stopped at 2.8 I lightly tapped the meter housing and the indicator went back to normal position...

Thus arises my second question:
Is the aperture ring coupled to the meter or directly to the cell?
If it's coupled directly to the cell, the meter still can be used as reference, the only thing not working will be the lock when the lens cap is on 🙄
