Had a contax g2 now getting a canon p what you think to this change please help me as i am a great fan of the rangefinder but i am only 15 so not much expericunce. ?

Many Thanks Kane.

Kane, the P is a great camera. I'm sure you're aware there's no meter, so you'll need an accessory meter, or will have to learn how to guess--maybe you already know how. If you're short on money, you could get some Russian lenses like the Jupiter-8 or Industar-61, or the Canon screwmount lenses if you have a little more dough...also check out cameraquest.com for new screwmount lenses.

The P is really easy to use--it's a cinch to load, compared to the Leica M2, the camera it most resembles. Framing is done with the framelines etched in the finder, and focusing is done with the moving focus patch.

I no how to meashure light but i am getting the light metor add on just for practicality jezze i need to get in english class and stop reaserching cartier breson and robert frank hah .

Contax and Canon RF cameras are not cheap, and it is unusual to find a "15 year old" person using them.

Canon P

Canon P

Its a joy to hear some young people getting there feet wet using a great piece of equipment like the P. Stay with you passion Kane, there is a world of interesting things things out there.BB

My avatar photo shows me at about 15 or 16 with my first Canon RF, Raid. I am watching Kane's entry into Canon RF with interest (and a bit of jealousy--the P is a truly great camera).
