I'm back at my boring day job. Spent the holiday at Cape Cod.

John suggested meeting on a Saturday this time. Also made it easier for RFFers from Long Island to attend. BTW Double Negitive, I would like to personally thank you for your help and influence that helped me get into Medium Format. Your posts in other threads were instrumental. Thanks. Hope you guys can make it. So far we haven't set a date and this could be an opportunity for you to set the date. I figure the time should be around lunchtime.

At the May Meet-Up we discussed meeting up at the most southern end of the High-Line. I suggest only bringing a rig(s) to shoot. Long Islanders can easily walk from Penn Station. Hopefully the weather will be great.

We have to come up with a plan B in case of foul weather, but galleries and places to eat abound. Please post suggestions.

You're so welcome - I'm glad to have helped. Once you try MF...

I won't be around from the 14th-23rd; Caribbean cruise. :D

I'm open to pretty much anything else.

O.K. The next Meet-Up will be June 26th at 1:00 PM. The location will be the most southern entrance to the High Line. This Meet-Up will be less gear related. Bring something to shoot with.

Where's Amy?

Maybe I'll be able to make it out from LI!

This past weekend, some guy with a Bessa wandered over Tudor over 42nd while a bunch of us were waiting around for Manhattanhenge, was it any of you?

We kinda made it easy for you. Should be a great time and it also is a good opportunity to hook up with others for further foreys into seeing shows and shooting, especially for you guys spread out in the suburbs. Also funcions and creates a support group.

I keep on running into the same people by chance that I first met at a NYC Meet-Ups. This is a good way to shoot more and take it to the next level.

My girlfriend BTW also appreciates that I have an outlet other than her for my obsession with gear. LOL

PS: It is events like Manhattanhedge that is good information to share. Wish I was there. Kinda wouldn't have known about the W.Eugene Smith Jazz Loft Project at Lincoln Center if it were not for Damaso the creator of the NYC Meet-Up.

Okay...time for me to contact a gallery or two in the area to see what's happening, either their shows or others they may know about.

And, for the truly GAS-afflicted, there's this killer Tesla dealership in the middle of it all. (Yeah, I know, "gas" and Tesla...I kill me.) ;)

Cal, again, thanks for putting these together. I'm going to be in Texas June 17-29, so it looks like I'll miss this one too. July it is, then.

As usual, thanks again Barrett. Like I said, this is a great support group and there are many sources of inspiration. New York at its best.

In July Damaso will likely be back, but somehow I know that we will likely cross paths again like we did at ICP.

Awesome...

I've been dying to check out the Highline too.

Triple bonus. Although I live in NYC I'm new to the Highline also.

Many thanks to the others that made suggestions to create this community. It wasn't my idea to select the Highline BTW. Chime in this is your Meet-Up. In real life I'm not so loud or forward BTW.

John and I walked from LIC, through Greenpoint, though Williamsburg to ended up in East Williamsburg at the Morgan Avenue stop of the L train this past Sunday. Along the way we visited the graveyard where the Calzonemobile was parked. John took some shots that he said he will post here later.

We also met some guy that was going to go to court soon for some petty crime. This guy raved about a long delay before charges were pressed against him, his lawyer thought that this was a good thing, and then he began to read us his rap sheet... I ended up giving him some friendly advice: "If you are going to steal-steal big," I told him and I wished him good luck in court.

We spent Sunday afternoon sweating and shooting. We had Dumount Burgers in Williamsburg for lunch.

This is a BUMP.

I'll try to join this time. Looking forward to meeting you all. And the High Line is a fun place for some shooting.

Welcome, and I hope you can make it.

We all need to look and shoot more. The NYC Meet-Up is a great support group BTW and a source of both inspiration and laughter.

Call me anxious, but there is only 141 days to the next Photo Expo at the Javit's Center held October 28-30th 2010.

Visit www.photoexpo.com for your free registration before the deadline.

Also this is a bump. Last year the Leica booth crushed the Nikon booth with the image quality of their poster sized prints. Not only were they bigger, they were sharper, and had more saturated colors.

The Leica booth kinda almost made me go home and break all my Nikon gear (SLR-film): It was really that good.

Also this show is a better economic indicator than the Fed and our government. As I remember the recession was clearly indicated way before "Bailout Ben" discovered we were in a recession. Now that the government says we are in a recovery, I say, "I need verification."

Hope to see you there.

Hey all... I've been pretty sick and not around much lately, but I'd love to try to make this one...

Call me dumb, but what is the Highline???

That's a great question because I don't have an answer. Whenever I am in Chelsea I often see it, but I never explored it.

All I know is that for you Long Islanders is that it is easy to get to from Penn Station and it is within walking distance. Should be a lot of fun. There also is a big concentration of galleries that feature or specialize in photography in the area.

Can someone please give the exact location of the most souther entrance?

Get well soon.
