zhang xk said:Now here is something that maybe interesting to military equipment fans or astronomers.😀 This is a lens that was removed from an obsolete Chinese missile tracking system. This is a high power telescope with sharp image quality. It has no marks or any information about who made it, the fucal length, S/N, etc. It also has the military equipment build quality, and it is extremely heavy.:bang:
Will said:so rest of the tracking system still forsale?
hahahha...
are they off the ships that track china's first ICBM shoot into the pacific in the 1970s?
zhang xk said:I heard that it is from a missle tracking vehicle. Here is an image of a US missle tracking system currently listed on Eb#y. Without the lens, the rest is useless. Combined with my Zeiss 8X eyepiece, this lens could produce larger and sharper image. That US tracking system could track a rocket all the way from the Earth to the Moon.😀

you actually own this?
****! it's ex-chinese military?
Zhang,
That's the view in BF from your place?
Still in HK, stopped trading equities, and started trading futures contract.
Still want to move to china, but not DongGuang, will just move to ShenZhen instead; when my trading get stable.
zhang xk said:Yes, I am the owner of this military piece because no one was interested. I shot the image in my small apartment. I will not buy many of these or my room will be pacted like a ware house.😀 Housing is extremely expensive in Beijing. 1 square meter could cost 1-3 thousand US$.🙁

Although somewhat unpolite, yet logical, I am curious about Madam XK feelings on your first hand knowledge of Madam Jiang tastes and manners.
Your friend,

I am shocked at his prices! A few pieces of glasss could cost $35,000.00?! What is so special about these optics? Apochromat is quite common for microscope objectives. But a top quality Zeiss Planapochromat objective could also cost well above $10,000.00!
I heard that a Chinese optical factory in Sichuan province could make very large aspherical lens elements with a special manufacturing process, and it is the first such manufacturer in Asia! Many European and Japanese companies bought lens elements from this factory. I will see if I can locate the source for this information.
And here is another rare vintage Chinese camera, the one of a kind Dong Feng EF-1 120 SLR made by Beijing Camera Factory. 🙂
Cheers,
Zhang

Will said:I know is bad, but Hong Kong is worst, I don't want to work for life, just to pay for an apartment.
There is more to life than this.
I only have extented family, so nothing stop me from leaving Hong Kong.
The only reason I am staying coz I am trading here.
zhang xk said:Housing is much cheaper in some smaller cities. I have a friend in Longkou near Yantai where he bought a 90+ square meters apartment for less than RMB 100,000 some years ago.
These places maybe good for retired life, but not convenient for doing business.
