jaapv, your admonition is obviously not addressed to lurkers likes me, but let me interject that, from this beginner's perspective, there is enough quantity and quality in the RFF gallery to be intimidating.
The other thing is, I visit RFF to eavesdrop and learn: about darkroom technique, about buying, repairing and shooting cameras and lenses, about special shooting situations, etc. I also visit to enjoy the way people talk about something they love. I've learned and enjoyed plenty, but I am embarrassed to say I haven't had much time to stop and look at the pictures!
I guess my point is that I imagine some long-time members may prefer to spend their time here communing verbally, whether trading info or just shooting the breeze. I wouldn't have it any other way, as I have certainly benefitted from their loquaciousness.
On the other hand, you have made me visit the gallery. Not for the first time, but it has been a while. I do forget it's there sometimes. So thanks, jaapv, for reminding me that there are other things going on at RFF to enjoy, and in a way reminding me what this is all about in the first place.
And while I'm at it, a big Thank You to Jorge and the regulars for... well, for all this!
