You need to specify if you're interested in the earlier 35/3.5 or the later 35/2.8. Very different lenses -- as reflected in the prices they fetch.

Just quick snaps from my E-P1, default "Natural" setting in JPG and no post processing just resized:

My Summaron 35mm f3.5 came back surprisingly contrasty after a clean by Macom Taylor. When I first got it there was little visible haze but it flared like nobody's business if pointed anywhere in the general direction of a light source. Now I rarely bother using a lens hood as the front lens is quite deeply recessed. It is also very compact, not much larger than the Elmar 3.5cm.
I eventually sold my CV lenses because I just wasn't using them, razor sharp though they were. In fact I prefer the slightly softer more rounded tones of the original Leica glass which is, of course, part of the reason for choosing to use a 70 year old camera in the first place.

Thank you guys for your responses and the comparison pixs, I think the CV are sharper not much just a little bit, what do you think ?

I think this cv gives more saturated colors than this summaron, in addition to the sharpness difference already noted. I prefer the cv. Thanks for posting, je2a3.

pagpow is right about saturation + a bit more contrast....

It all boils down to personal preference. I'm glad that was helpful!

Helps me to know to keep an eye open for a Summaron 35/3.5 I can afford. It would pair up with my Summitar really well. Thanks for those shots - I know the CV lens so it was really nice to see them together that way.
