Barrett and I are happy with our Contax Tvs cameras. For me, it's my no fuss famiily snaps camera with colur film. My daily carry to work, no fuss point and shoot with B+W film is a Rollei AFM 35. It's just always in my briefcase. When photography is slightly higher on the priority list, but not tops, I carry a Hexar AF, which is larger and a more serious picture-taker while still being a point and shoot if that's what I"m looking for. When photography is tops on the list, then there are 35mm RF and SLR cameras, and ultimately medium format RF, SLR, and TLR cameras. But the daily carry cameras (film) are the topic of this post. What is yours?

I usually only carry a camera with me all the time in the winter as the bulkier clothing makes having a camera a snap. My XA is my companion during these months. Very small and a decent lens.

Just started with Rangefinders and it has almost been 1 year now.
Daily Camera, carry and shoot with a Zeiss Ikon ZM
Tri-X-most of the time
Only own 2 lenses a 50mm Summilux pre asph and a 28mm Elmarit.
been a lot of fun so far...

I drive a Freightliner, nicknamed freightshaker, for a living so certain cameras don't ride. Even though I think the trucks today are much better against vibration than years ago I'm still cautious. I have heard horror stories of screws vibrating loose so my Canonet gIII goes with me most of the time. I see many photos on flickr of truckers who carry dslr's so I'm probably worrying over nothing. Motorcycles now are a totally different story I hear, but I don't ride one so I'm safe.:)

Since I got a new samsung cell phone with a 3 megapixel camera, I haven't been carrying another one. But it only gives acceptable pictures in the best of conditions, so I'm thinking about carrying around my little Fuji Tiara / Endeavor 1000ix. That's right, it's an APS camera, but it is just about the smallest film camera you will find anywhere, smaller than many digitals.

My M4-P or M7 with anyone of my lenses. I don't see a point in having a special "daily carry camera". Why would I buy a Leica and lenses if not for daily use ?

Agreed :)

Though in my case I'd replace "Leica" with "Nikon" or "Zeiss Ikon".

Most days I have an SP 2005 (usually with a W-Nikkor 3.5cm f1.8) in my bag, but today I have a Zeiss Ikon (with Nokton 35/1.4) loaded with Superia 1600.

While I admire, in a way, those who carry their Leicas, and especially buddy with the Mamiya 6, every day, it doesn't make sense for me to carry around so much money when my daily photo opportunities are so limited, both by my environment, and my preoccupied mind. Horses for courses (the proper tool for every job) as they say.

Since I commute to work by car, and don't get many photo ops during the work-day, I don't have a daily carry, but I slip my XA into my briefcase when there's a chance for some photography. On out-of-town day trips, or weekend or evening outings, I take along a small rf, like a Bessa T or a Canonet. A barnack is also an excellent carry-along camera.

Frank, in my case I shoot over 90% of all my photos on my way home back from work. Maybe once in a while (two or three times a month) I take a walk or go somewhere with the intention to take photos. I think Leicas (Nikon RF, Zeiss RF, Contax RF ....) were made for that purpose originally, as (daily)-carry around cameras. :)

Right now I carry a Ricoh FF3 AF Super around iin the corner of my bag and its a fine camera despite its many noisy characteristics, but the lens is a little lacking in character. That said I would like to find myself with one of the Leica or Contax's later in the future.

When I was working in Japan, I carried my main/best camera every day too.

Leicas were daily carry cameras for serious photographers in the old days, but nowadays we have more automated and smaller 35mm cameras.

My OM2 is always close at hand. A Canonet 28 is in the glovebox and my LG Voyager that I'm posting with from work is always in my pocket.

I carry either an m3 with a 50mm or my m2 with a 35mm......I always have either one of these on me...I live in Bangkok now, and I see interesting things everyday....I also dont drive a car, so when I am commuting, I have ample opportunities to take "interesting" photos....as far as film goes....usually some fuji 100 color or xp2....it depends....sometimes I carry a light meter, but not always....lately, my girlfriend has started to carry a camera too with her....she was using one of my Leicas for awhile but she prefers the nikon f that I bought....she says it's easier to focus....
