100 bucks if you only ever shoot a couple of rolls with it and it then stays in a drawer, making it about 2 bucks a frame.
20 bucks if you shoot a bit with it then sell it on at a slight loss.
I take many portraits each month, so this lens will be used. I will check out its OOF look.
Overpay?
Go to your wife and tell her you paid $125 for a 50 year old camera lens. ask her if you overpaid. And then ask her what she is going to get herself to let you off the hook.
That $125 lens will seem cheap.

That lens will even seem cheaper by not telling my wife, Brian. My Ph.D. helped me arrive at this piece of wisdom.

My wife, daughter and granddaughter went to the Houston Galleria this past Saturday and looking at my bank account and the amount spent with a debit card, it was a trip worth about 3-4 of these lenses or about 1 - Leica M 50f2.0. I guess that makes up for the lenses I have been purchasing from Ebay. Now the RF cameras I have listed on Ebay won't even make up what was spent.

I tell Nina what I spent money on... Like a $100 Canon 7....

What would she say?
I just get back something like "do you mean you bought another lens?"

Hi Al,
I was given by a RFF member a Komura 35mm 2.8 in Exakta mount. It is a really good lens. This led me to look at other Komura lenses.
Maybe I got lucky and the 105mm 3.5 turns out to be a very good lens. It certainly looks very nice.
Raid,
happy to read the present was a decent one
Since last Christmas I have obtained a W. Acall 35mm f3.5 and a W.Komura 28mm f3.5 lens, they have been with me to the Czech Republic last week and I will do my best to put some of the shots up shortly, here's an oldie with the 35mm:

I love these lenses, and had been considering throwing in a bid for the lens you bought, but it slipped my mind
Good to see you got it, and again I'd like to see some shots once you have them!

Hi Johan,
I will certainly do so. I hope that your Czech images will come out fine with the Komura.

Frank,
So I got a decent lens after all. This is good to know. $125 is not a large sum of money to try out something new for me. I will compare it side by side with the Canon 100mm 3.5.
The Komura lenses seem to be praised fro color images.
Have you had a chance to compare it to your Canon 100/3.5 yet?

I will do a comparison soon. I first had to make sure that the Komura focuses correctly on my camera.

It seems to remind me more of the Elmar 90/4, a good lens for portraits as it seems a little soft.

Chris,
The infinity focus is not alligned in the RF patch. I may get the lens adjusted to achiever higher levels of sharpness.
