Using 'silver' as your font color makes it very difficult to read for those of us who do not use the default RFF color scheme. Which means I generally won't bother with it at all. If you want your words to be read, don't be cute with the font colors.

Michael Kamber (http://web.mac.com/kamberm/Leica_M8_Field_Test,_Iraq/Page_1.html) tested M8 and was not satisfied with the results. Just wandering if any one from Magnum or (similar caliber photographers) using Digital M this days?

There is also Chris Weeks who uses the M9 now. Not Magnum, but way up there, IMO.

In terms of the digital market i think the main reason why there are a very small ratio of pros using digital m mount cameras (both leica and the older Epson) to DSLR is value for money, if you look at the spec of the M9 and the Canon 5D or Nikon D700, you get alot better value for the SLR system, especially with Nikon as its compatible with almost every lens they've made since the 1950s. The price difference of £1700 for a high end DSLR as apposed to £4500 for a DRF is a big jump for many freelance and self employed photographers.
I personally would love to get my hands on the M9 though id rather have a manual-cock shutter, as I'd feel more comfortable with it, so maybe a 2nd hand epson rd1 would be more feasible for me, but the sheer cost of the camera, and getting adapters so i can use my Vöigtlander LTM lenses, is just more then i could hope to afford.

There are some VERY accomplished photographers using digital leicas. Some of them even turn up here sometimes although the best ones go unrecognised!
This si one of the worlds top photographers who uses dig Leica along with several other formats and has carried out empirical testing for real pro use,...he posts here as 'Downstairs'
Take a look at his pix and see what you think, then look at his other collection of tests;

....While you are there, take a look at his client list and ask yourself whether this man (of over 40 years experience) would use a digital leica if it was a "toy"

Well, I don’t know if this guy is using Digital Leica with his clients since you said that he is using other systems along with digital Leica. Not very often you see some one using digital point-and-shoot and digital rangefinder to shoot still lifeJ (I was referencing specifically to Digital M system in my post)

What do you mean "point and shoot",....I never mentioned any point and shoot and as far as i know he does not use one but he does use M8 and on the basis of that has M9 on order.

I find myself wondering why you ask. Are you a pro considering the switch?
Are you a hobbyist who prefers to use the same equipment the pros use?
If you are looking for examples of photojournalists using Leica Digital Ms, you will be disappointed. And it has little to do with the cameras. At least in the U.S., most major media outlets buy equipment for their photographers.
And they've been wedded to Canon and Nikon for a long time. Leica long ago abandoned that market when it failed to develop a digital M when everyone started going that direction.
And in this economy, there just aren't many news organizations willing to go out and invest tens of thousands of dollars buying new gear for their photographers. (Particularly when that gear doesn't record video)
And not many working photojournalists are able/willing to spend that kind of cash supplementing their work kits.
