I hardly ever carry a camera with me. I'm not very interested in street photography and although I see many things that interest me both topically and visually on a daily basis, I don't think it fits into my photgraphic body of work.

Not always on my person, but always within easy access. If I'm shopping, it's in the car or truck. A photographer without a camera is like a fire engine without water - you can't always go back for it when you need it.
I like to have a camera with me but "Need" is too strong of language. Its obviously nice to take a photo of something I wish to photograph if the opportunity presents itself. But I have found that having an "old film camera" with me is a great conversation piece for people who have never shot or seen film cameras. Its also a nostalgic piece for digital photographers who have migrated away from film.
I have even had people tell me that they want to shoot film again after seeing one of the film cameras I have in my posession.
