Do you feel the need to have a camera with you at all times?

I almost always have a camera with me, without being in picture taking mode, just to have at hand in case an opportunity presents itself.

I hardly ever carry a camera with me. I'm not very interested in street photography and although I see many things that interest me both topically and visually on a daily basis, I don't think it fits into my photgraphic body of work.

I think my attitude comes from years of generating photos where I look at the neg and think "nice but not great, now what the hell do I do with it?"

Sums it all up for me. If I'm going to take photographs, I'll specifically go out with a camera and a series of images in mind.

Not always on my person, but always within easy access. If I'm shopping, it's in the car or truck. A photographer without a camera is like a fire engine without water - you can't always go back for it when you need it.

I like to have a camera with me but "Need" is too strong of language. Its obviously nice to take a photo of something I wish to photograph if the opportunity presents itself. But I have found that having an "old film camera" with me is a great conversation piece for people who have never shot or seen film cameras. Its also a nostalgic piece for digital photographers who have migrated away from film.

I have even had people tell me that they want to shoot film again after seeing one of the film cameras I have in my posession.

I try to always have at least my IIIf with me and feel naked if I don't.

Yes, camera bag with 3 M Leica bodies and 5 lenses in the car(locked) and a IIIF/15mm "p&S" around my neck. Neopan 400/Acros or whatever is currently rolled from bulk ...

Well, after some reflection... I have purchased a used Canon S90 so I can have a camera with me at all times.

I am "getting over" such an addiction.
I look at the sky first to check the light, and then I may put the camera aside.
