in the early seventies, i used to work in a local camera store...at that time the only pro store around.
it was considered advantageous by the various camera dealers for the salespeople to be using one of their products...customers always asked 'what do you use'?
one year, the nikon rep came around and offered us all nikon f2s for 10% less than dealer cost! nice deal indeed...as a 'bonus' they would engrave our names on the inside of the camera, on the swing door. (also kept us from selling them too easily, i'm guessing).
i did eventually sell it when i switched to the oly om system (long story).
and now i'm wondering...if anyone here has my old camera? or if anyone might know where it is? long shot for sure but wouldn't that be a hoot?
maybe the next time you change film you might want to check...?
