i just have not figured out how to do it propery. it woud be helpful if the FAQ section had an easy example on how to upload. i dont have this problem elsewhere.
There are a couple of helpful threads explaining several ways to put photos into forum posts in the RFF Help forum here: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=190i just have not figured out how to do it properly. it would be helpful if the FAQ section had an easy example on how to upload. i dont have this problem elsewhere.
I try to post a few here, but I'm more likely to post to Flickr because it's so much easier to post there - I spend way too much time trying to get the size right to post here...flickr is a snap...plus you can upload to many sites with apps like LYN (mac only for now) which make it super easy to select, set size parameters and upload...bing!
It would be a great feature to add that to the upload scheme here!!!
It's easy. If you post in the gallery & want to post in a thread (remember some threads you can't post links) open up the photo & just left click & copy then go to the thread you wish to add the photo & paste. On Flickr I just grab the bb code, copy & paste in the color box that says "insert image". Just be aware that when you copy your link in the bar that the http that originally comes up, you need to erase it out. You don't want to see http twice. You can hit preview to erase all the wording that comes up with your photo, then submit. At least thats how it works on my computer & I'm running an old one.Posting in the gallery is fine, but posting in threads is PAINFUL. I still haven't been able to do it. Flickr accounts, links etc. what a hassle when you just want to attach a small file!
Can you please tell me how to resize an image on here? I am so frustrated because I am trying to upload images and they blow up much too large.
Here is an example:

What sort of parameters can I pass into the IMG HTML element to make it within 500px wide?
Also, if the moderator is listening, why not have responsive HTML and CSS where the thread automatically resizes the images to your screen? (Use flexbox, its amazingly easy!!!). Oh - and don't worry about supporting IE 7 or 8, just leave them in the dust and force people to migrate 🙂.
No! I run IE8 & don't plan on buying another computer anytime soon. Why don't you use software where you can resize your photo in. I use PS6, very easy.

I beg of you... get rid of IE8...
You don't have to buy another computer!! Its as easy as going to the below link:
https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/
There's also FireFox. What OS and version do you use?
Please pardon my emotions about this, but IE7 and IE8 are the bane of my existence. They are terrible browsers that don't support anything interesting about the web.
Think about it this way, you want to develop a website but because people are still using older browsers, you have to instead build two websites - one for everyone else using Chrome, FireFox, and IE9+ then another for IE7 and IE8. And the IE7 & IE8 Website takes 3x as long to build as the others and won't even support the cool features you want to build.
The fact that so many people use IE8 is basically holding up innovation in the web world.
