I have posted to the gallery but find it is too much work to get the digital image down to the rather small file size. Flickr and other sites far more user friendly.

With Flickr, Facebook and 500px, I'm not keen on maintaining another gallery.

That said, I do post into occasional threads.

I do post often, no matter my scanner is the crappiest scanner on Earth. But more I enjoy watching pictures of the other active members!

Regards,

Boris

I allways had a hard time to get pictures posted in a good enough size. Allredy got some help but with some time in between I can't figure out how to manage size beyond thumbnails when I sponaneously want to share some pics. And then I keep them to myself....but sometime soon I will practice and then.....

I post in the W/NW Photo Association often as I really loved the way people associate theirs with the last post sometimes it makes me think long and hard.

Due to my lack of knowledge on almost every issue being discussed in RFF, I rather prefer to read the threads, learn something about (real) photography and post the images from my photolog in 'W/NW' and 'Photo Association'.

I created my photolog to share with my family and friends my experiences away from home in first place. Now, I love posting them also here. Besides that, I can always upload picture to my Flickr to post in specific threads here.

I am currently stepping into Film, so I will have to learn how to share my new (tangible) photos in here.

Cheers

I've kind of quit posting online in general. I'm focused on making a bodies of work and books. I show my works in progress to people in person.

I always wonder guys how do you manage to count for thousand of posts here in RFF. I am struggling to reach the 200
And I almost read RFF every day.

Lately I post quite regularly in the gallery, I find it funny how my photos usually stick out among all the b&w images. Beside that occasionally to Sigma Merrill threads.

I wouldn't say I'm a regular here yet. I did learn how to post photos to threads though. I wish they'd show up as pictures instead of links you need to click on though.
I like the 'gear' threads and would find them a lot more educational if people wouldn't assume everyone knows what lens/camera/piece of equipment they were talking about and instead add a picture of it. Sometimes the lens discussions get to be just so many numbers acronyms jumbled together it's hard to keep track.
I still haven't found a 'How to post photos to the gallery' thread here so no, I don't post to the gallery. I have a feeling that holds the key as to how the great pics of cameras show up so nicely in the 'Show me your...' threads.

Good question. I wished your poll allowed for more than one response:1- I’m not confident enough in my own work to be able to post images here(For me, a recent re-entry to use a camera, digital and recently film) AND 2-I can’t get my head around the process of posting in threads or in the gallery.....
RFF has been a great experience for me for seeing images-the talent and the shared knowledge.....

I post on flickr and link tp here. Never been able to put photos up here except for a few, and even then I couldn't tell why it worked.

I post on Flick and Photobucket and then only a few here - the reason is that these other sites have much better organizational, tagging and sharing capabilities

I stopped posting shy of 400, when they changed formats. I didn't like the new format as well as the old. I'm probably in the minority on that.

The critiques were not very realistic, i.e., they were mostly congratulatory and backslapping. I felt that people would post if they liked what you did and just keep quiet if they didn't. Nothing wrong with that. of course, if I didn't get a mention on Monday morning then I felt I was a failure (not really). My real critic is the image market and what I am able to sell.

I've always liked the quality and content on RFF, although rangefinder is a term that is rapidly becoming blurred and indistinct. I'll continue to spend time here — maybe even post the occasional picture.

I'm here because of the overall high information, quality and discussion level, compared to other photographic fora. My picture publishing workflow is already complicated enough (home server version, photo site version, sometimes different print versions) and the gallery here would add one step more of complexity.
I did (and will do) publish pictures here, but only if strictly related to a thread, where the pictures should remain together with the text, eg. a disassembling instruction.
The new gallery has better options than the old one, but it is still too additional manual mailing to get all my lenses into the gallery DB.

EDIT: In the meantime a new thread had emerged, where you can post your lens requirements. My bodies and lenses are now in the gallery DB. It is just up to me to post more images...
