Ektachrome update?

I managed to pick up a couple of rolls of Ektachrome, just as our sunlight is about to disappear for quite a long spell of course. This should be interesting – the last time I shot transparency film they were still manufacturing Kodachrome, lol.

FYI, if anyone in Portland is looking for Ektachrome they still have a few rolls left at Citizens Photo.

That's the thing. It seems by default people shop at the big name stores like B&H, and if they can't get something there they think it's gone everywhere.
When I bought my D850, it was back ordered at B&H for months and the conventional wisdom was that it was unavailable for a long time, but I bought mine after a one week wait from a smaller shop.
Same thing with this film. Call around to the smaller shops.

It was funny as they didn't have it anywhere where it could be seen. So I wouldn't have known if I hadn't asked. But they only had a handful of rolls left and they didn't know how long it would be before they'd get more in. But to your point, I always like to support smaller shops when I can (although I think these guys actually process quite a bit of film).

I still haven't found any! Last week B&H said they expect it shortly. Their web site says December. Their new print catalog does not even list it.

And yes, I see a definite green cast in the originals above. Of course this is far from a calibrated monitor. :)

I just got my scans from thedarkroom. It's ok I guess.. I'll wait to judge it 100% when I get my negatives back so I can compare color and do my own scans (not a fan of thedarkroom's scans) also.. my pics probably aren't all that exciting :D
