I had this morning the M8, M9, and the SWC appraised for replacement value. I then emailed the insurance company the appraisal.

It wasn't so bad after all in terms of cost since the replacement value is not for a new camera but for something of equal value used. There is no new SWC or M9 anyways.

I will have for sunshine shooting the 50/3.5 Heliar, and for general photography, the 35/1.4 Lux. The tiny CV 25/4 is thrown in the bag just in case a sweeping scene opens up in front of me.

The M9 is not heavy at all, when compared with the SWC.

I am ready for Italy.

Here is my travel outfit.

Leica M9 with CV 25/4, Lux 35/1.4, Heliar 50/3.5. (these are light and small lenses)
Hasselblad SWC (heavy dude)

Many batteries; charger; many memory cards; CV Meter II, lens cleaner cloth, blower, brush.

I usually leave all gear in one bag for the plane trip, and once we are at the hotel, I will place the camera in a plain small bag and I will leave most batteries/film at the hotel to reduce weight and to minimize loss.
In this trip, I will use a small cooler bag to carry the SWC or the M9 in. It is a tiny, light, insulated bag.

Hi Raid, i was planning to bring my Rolleiflex to Tuscany but it does not work anymore. I brought it to a lab to be repaired but not sure if they manage before I come to Tuscany 😡 I think I'll bring my m7 or...

I can check some of the gear in my bag, Frank. Thanks for the warning.
I usually check in gear that is neither valuable nor easily bojen. This includes batteries and battery charger.

Yes, the SWC made it to the final cut.

Grazie Raid, for my 120 films I still have the Holga, not a Rollei but still a camera 😀

If I find luggage space, I will bring a folder MF camera for you to use, Robert. We decided to leave behind our full sized luggage, and we downsized to make transportation in Siena more manageable.

I am now ready for Italy. Is Italy ready for me?

I will start packing my suitcase soon, and then it is simply a matter of enjoying the trip.
I am sure that we will be meeting with Robert and his wife, so this is a plus.
No clue where Nico (in Lucca) has vanished. I hope to meet him too in his hometown.

🙂 Shukran!

I enjoy tremendously a meeting with RFF photographer in some spot on Earth.
One day, we will meet, Frank.

Raid:

Have a grand time in Italy. Glad you're bringing a 6x6 camera!
I wish you & your family lots of good times and good Gelato.

Buon Viaggio,

Giorgio

Thank you, Giorgio. I will try to make good use of the SWC in Italy. Why else would I carry a relatively heavy camera.
Dana nd Lina love pizza and Gelato, so Italy is a land that is sent from heaven to them. We will (for their sake only) include a one day visit to Venice so that the girls can experience riding a Gondola there. Of course, they want to see the tower in Pisa, so we must visit Pisa too again.

The girls have good (aka expensive) taste. They recall visiting Lake Como and the small town of Valmadrera two years ago, and they mention once in a while that Tuscany for this year is fine, but some other time, they want to again visit Lake Como. Maybe next time we will visit Lugano, which is close to Lake Como. I recall visiting Lugano as a young boy with my family. I had never seen oranges on trees before.

In 24 hours, we should be on a plane to Atlanta and then take another plane .....
Thanks for all the advices here and the positive vibes.
