i know a girl from gdansk living in slovenia. i dropped her an email about where meet/eat, what to see. she proposed visiting sopot, and for gdansk anywhere around the river is fine to hang out.

What's the best way to get from the airport to the center of the city ? Bus ? Taxi ?

Bus is the best, simplest and cheapest way. Go out of airport and to the left to bus stations. On the machine buy the ticket. It is in english and accepts all sorts of credit cards. Board the bus 210 to orunia gościnna and go to the main railway station, dworzec główny. When you cross the road, you are in the old town, everything there is really close and walking distance.
Taxi probably works as well, but did not try that option.
