Finally! Nokton 50/1.5 in M-mount

The comparison I'd like comment on is with the zm sonnar c. I am wondering whether I can justify adding this new lens.

The new Nokton is a very different lens, surprisingly flat field wide open (sharp across the plane) with very little shift across the aperture range. It also has 0.7m min. focus.

Contrast feels similar between the two lenses. The Nokton has a little barrel distortion, while the my C-Sonnar (years ago) was very rectilinear.

Which is better very much depends on what you want to use it for. Only you know.

Just picked up my copy of the new Nokton. I now have the old and new Noktons. Initial reaction is good. Its roughly the same length with a much narrower waist. You can really feel a difference holding it on the camera. This is definitely a much better feeling lens than many Voigtlanders. The look seems very similar...but there are differences. I can see a few already when wide open. Luckily my copy was spot on with my rangefinder. No need for any adjustments. I leave tonight for a a 4-day shoot for a client. I will be using this lens extensively over the next few days and will be curious to see how it does. Also, when I get back I will do some side by side comparisons of scenes with new and old.

Anyone tried this on m4/3? I am debating getting one for my r2m and it would be easier to motivate myself to part with the $$$ if people also had good experiences using it for portraits and such on a m4/3.
