Flickr : is there a post-processing?

Hello,

I've just opened a flickr account and was slightly surprised to see that my photo on the net looked sharper than when I posted them so I was wondering if there were a post-processing involved when posting a picture?

I have a paid acct and they certainly will resize photos when uploading, so I'm guessing that they may perform some other standardized actions, such as sharpening.

Post processing? No. Resizing? Yes, unless you select 'all sizes'' and click on 'original size'.

They sharpen pictures along with resizing. But they don't sharpen original size

I have observed that my images in any of the compressed sizes look sharpened but when I look at the original size, they appear as grainy and sharp as the original on my monitor. The same holds for pBase.

If oversharpening and indiscriminate contrast boosting count as post-processing, then yes.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions! It's not completely unpleasant but the "minolta look" discussed in another thread kind of vanishes!
