That time of year, yes, the tree moss is back with a passion. I always find it interesting and hope you do, too.

"I was a cockteaser for Roosterama. I would dress up as a giant egg and sit on the roosters and they would get so mad." In reality torturing animals for entertainment is disgusting. I went to a remote village in BCS Mexico for a saints day celebration and the cockfighting was there. So I photographed it. These are the least disgusting.

Mexico is contrasts of cruelty, ridicule and affection. This is a folkloric reenactment for Day of the Dead. The children play out mestizo characters while being mestizo. The characters are cruelly ridiculed as drunken and lazy. Nevertheless, the children are beautiful. And, in the second photo, we see a mestizo Madonna and Child. Think of Latin America as a giant reservation as the majority of the population is mixed Indigenous and Spanish, mostly Indigenous.

Bob Michaels, where are you? I respect your take on the subject of cock fighting, not that I approve of cock fighting.

Anyway, I hope you're okay. Please post. Post anything, just post so we know you're okay.

All the best,
Mike

Driving through Juaracuaro, Michoacan, MX, on 1 November after the first night of Day of the Dead, children, and this fellow popped through a doorway. Serendipity. I wish I could claim skill but it was all luck. I was taking a picture of the door frame.
