I was recently going through an M9 album and struck by the colors. Yes, they are a bit over the top but they are lovely and they do catch the eye. They draw you in. I think that both the M8 and the M240 have colors less saturated/strong and the recent Q3 has nice color but it is always hard to capture the magic of the old CCD sensors.
So I strung together four shots: M8.2, M9, M240, Q3 43. They are just "shots" with everyday color but illustrate the subtle power of these Leicas. I certainly complain about Leica as much or more than anyone but they are also a "git 'er done" camera, one that works almost always when used. And they have nice color. So while not perfect they are pretty good.
