FSU lenses 'bokeh' comparisson

I like both the I61 and Jupiter. I think your "scratched" Jupiter may have also been dropped, kicked, hazed, and fungusized ;)

fwiw, the I61 has some attributes of the rokkor 40/2.

The I61 is my "go to" 50mm. I love the sharpness and contrast. I'm waiting to get the first roll shot with my new Jupiter-3 back; we'll see if I still feel the same after that!

I'm awaiting my first roll back with my bessa-r and I61. I also just got a j-3 (from Yuri) and I got some shots back yesterday, I only took a few with it, but they came back great. It's a nice lens.

I feel like my I61 is a little softer than the j-3, it has a great feel to it. The j-3 is more versatile. Which I take with me will probably depend on conditions.

Please, don't scratch your lenses if you want some 'Jupiter glow' :) Buy a cheap 'softener' or 'cross/star' filter instead, or maybe make your own by scratching a cheap UV :D

On the other hand, if you already have a scratched lens - don't be afraid to use it :D It might give you some interesting results - just like mine.

Nice shot Nikola.
I like also the shots on your page. Reminds me of Croatia - I just love that country. If I could, I would even move there :)

thanks :)

you were probably been here on vacation? it's kind a tradition for Czech and Slovaks to go in Croatia on summer holidays... :D

i've been in Poprad few years ago... :)

your model is indeed beautiful! It must be a pleasure to test your equipment on such a "subject".

For me the bad things about lens tests with such a model is that I completely forget to look at the Bokeh. ;)

Can we call it a process of Holgization of a Jupiter lens?

Ampguy, that's tough. Everyday shots at moderate apertures where all lenses look the same, and small pics. I give up. :bang:

BTW: what were the other lenses?

Actually wide range of apertures used

Actually wide range of apertures used

I went through the range, or at least fully open and closed and a mid range f5.6 to f11 on each of the 4 lenses.

The other 50s were an I-22, and I-50. The 35mm was a Canon Serenar 3.5 of which 7 are from that lens at 3.5 (2), 5.6, 8 (2) and 22(2).

Hi again.

As I'm updating this bokeh comparisson, I'd like to add what I originally haven't added: Jupiter 12.

So here it is:
J12 @ f2.8

J12 @ f5.6

Thanks for including the Jupiter 12. Using ISO 200 film, I seldom find a situation where I can open up to 2.8. I am very well impressed with the performance of my black, 1987 J 12.

So am I, but it also flares badly... even in not so bad situations.
