The Fuji X series are so pretty! Incredible.
I definitely see myself picking up the next gen of them. The x100s is great, but outta my budget. If the price of those decreases as fast as the x100 I'll get one of those in a year or so. Also: I have high hopes for the X-Pro replacement. I don't think I'll be rocking a DSLR for more than 2 years (if that).

very!!
having made the decsion up front to use only the fuji af lenses i have not been tempted to look around at other gear.
my biggest problem is i always want to take it all with me and it's too much for me... i look forward to getting the 27 pancake and mounting it on the x-e1...and carrying just that!
I feel the same way. My M8 is my least used camera after the Fujis and even the Sigma DP2m. Fixed lens cameras and the fact that I only really like 28-50mm lenses doesn't leave me many options in having lens GAS. Can't wait for the pancake. 2 more months I hear.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me these cameras are tempting, but not because of their looks!

Have my pre-order in for the x100s. Can't wait for it.

What softies are people using? I got one of Tom A's 8-ball but it seems too wide for my X-E1. I like the look of these smaller ones in the photos.

I use the same hood on my X100, works a treat!
What I'd really like is to have a push-on cap that fits over it; can't seem to find one deep enough to stay on.

Edit: Wait, what's that cap lying on the table?

you can use the cap of an analog film can. Fits perfect. White one look silly, but you can find black.

It's a 30.5mm metal screw-on cap. $3 (?) from BH [SELCM30.5]

For a digital camera they are. I could name a hundred camera's that trump the X series in terms of aesthetics, but I wouldn't be able to name many digital cams (if any).

Stock Grip
Hey - how are you guys removing that stock grip? It looks pretty good. The new body covering comes full - taking the removed grip in to account? Also wondering if the original body covering comes off easily or not.
Thanks,
Ivan

Aki Asahi makes covering for the Fuji X-Pro1 either with grip or without. Removing original covering is easy... peels off with no trouble. Removing the grip is also easy. You just peel back the covering on the grip, revealing a few small screws. Aki Asahi has easy to follow instructions on their website.
