Figured someone should update this thread with the newest member of the X family...
I've since put gaffer tape over the 'S' logo on front as well as taped over the light on the rear and the accessory door on the side which kept popping open.

...and just recently 'rediscovered' my summicron 90mm which I hardly ever used on the M8.2 - So easy with this camera to use tele's

I needed to make party pictures, so I bought a "F"lash for the X100, and
also treated myself to a Stofen flash diffuser, a Domke "gripper" strap and
a new Domke (in green canvas) that is now dedicated to this setup. Too
bad you have to remove the thumb grip to install the flash unit.

Yeh . . . did i NEED the thumb grip ? . . . no, but it is an improvement.
I rarely use a flash, but bounced upward with the diffuser and set at lower power, the flash here worked extremely well indoors (with other mixed light).

Well, I just filed down the little tab on the thumb grip -
the one that latches onto the EV marker. Filed it just a bit.
The thumbgrip now goes on and off a lot easier when
I want to attach the flash.

curious about the Pentax hood. What the advantage compared to the "usual" ones Fuji like?

The Fuji-like hoods are, for me personally, too big (and clumsy going in and
out of my bag), plus you can see them in the optical viewfinder and they can
make a flash shadow.
I had a Nikon dome hood on hand (52mm thread) that I tested out before I
bought the (expensive !) Pentax hood, and I liked it enough to buy the
Pentax hood.
Is it worth the $$$ ? . . . for me it is because I really don't like large lenses
and large hoods on my personal camera. Now I don't quite understand why
the dome style isn't the standard Fuji design.

Are you able to fit a filter inside the hood without any contact with the camera lens when used in macro?

The dome hood requires the 49mm adapter - same one that Fuji sells with
their hood or a from a 3rd party. I have used filters screwed onto this
adapter, under the dome hood, with no problem. The dome hood bulges
outward from the lens, not inward.
Now that I look at it, there is a filter attached to the adapter, behind the dome hood, in that picture there.
