I just couldn't help myself...

I had the lenses so why not use them?

Anyone an idea how to cover the X-E1 on the front without using tape?

Some people are using a black wax pencil for a non permanent cover up. For a more permanent solution you could use a Sharpie permanent marker.

I've often found it pretty hard to find images of what legacy lenses look like on the X-E1, so here's my contribution if it's useful reference for anyone.

The superb Zeiss 50 planar 1.4

The still pretty good but not quite as great but smaller and lighter MD 50 1.7

Industar 69 with a push on filter holder (with filter taken out) - makes it much much easier to change aperture and doubles as a lens hood. I'm on the lookout for another copy of this lens because I think there's something wrong with mine, the size is great though.

Pentax 110 auto 18mm 2.8 with DIY adapter. Surprisingly covers the APS-C sensor albeit with quite a bit of light falloff and smearing, also fixed aperture. Still can be handy.

How's that 40mm on the X-E1?

it's perfect so far, the size, the focal length and handling is great on the x-e1. love the old time quality and the sharpness after f5.6.

it's also a bonus that i can see the character of the lens in its entirety too with the 1.5x crop sensor compared to when using it on my m43 cameras.
