I've been trying to sell some Fuji stuff over a couple of forums these past few weeks and no bites. Makes me question the resalability of Fuji X cameras and lenses.

Have any of you had trouble selling your fuji x equipment?

I've had trouble selling most things recently, I think the fact is that forums such as this represent a keen, but tiny market compared to eBay. I can sell things fairly easily on eBay, rarely get bites here.

Not sure if this applies to you, but also I see people asking near the new price for some gear, which is probably just not worth the risk for most people.

I think you are exactly correct :)

I must admit that I don't like buying used digital gear, and that I know I'll have some hard task the day I sell one of mine. Oddly enough, I don't feel the same about buying old film gear (whether lenses, bodies or accessories).

Keep in mind that what thegman says is true: when I was shopping for my X100 on eBay, I saw a large amount of people offering their wares and asking probably 15% less than new price. Let's admit it: digital depreciates quickly, so you may want to revise your pricing policies... or reconsider the sale altogether.

Before I forget: I offered two Nikon lenses for sale in forums like this one and never flew. Posted them in Amazon and they were both gone... in two months after the posting of the sale.

I have my items priced at $600 less than new and still no bites.
Last week, there was a kit at getdpi that was more than $1000 less than the new price and the seller still had trouble selling it.

I might end up having to go to ebay to sell.

I guess it depends what the items total cost is, if the kit is worth (say) $3000 new, $600 off may not tempt some people.

If you've got some good kit, at a good price, I'm sure it'll sell on eBay.

In general I think several things are working against u right now..
- economy, everyone is looking for a better bargain, and thus maybe more willing to wait it out for the right price
- the rumor to the economy model xm-1 that is suppose to be out by end of this year, w/ some rumor sites saying by q3
- people waiting to c what next gen xp2/xe2 brings to the table and thus more willing to wait
- other more interesting toys tha!n your camera

On places like eBay, if u price it right, u can alway hope it will be bid up to something that is above what u originally expected.

Btw.. I think I saw a ex condition xp1 at KEH for around 1099about 2 weeks ago and it got sold pretty quick (less than a week).

Good luck w/ your sale..
Gary

unless i really wanted one right now...i would wait to buy...either wait for a new model or a much better price on these when the new models are introduced.
bad timing...

A lot of people try the Fuji cameras because they want to play with the new magic toys in town. There is a bit of a hype around these cameras so I assume more people are slightly disappointed when they discover that those are "only" very good but no magic cameras. A big forum here is full of used Fujis, one to three months old. Larger supply than demand brings the prices down.

Once Congress passes the law that will enforce sales tax collection on any online sale, I would expect way more interest in buying used products on forums like these.

$2200 is the current price, generally with free shipping and no tax.

You have only wides 18 and 35, so you are competing with the 18 to 55 @ $1400.

A tough sell -- since you are looking for a person wishing to carry two lenses for the speed -- at only a $500 discount (well not even that much if you throw in shipping)

And you describe the camera body as only EX, hopefully it is in better shape, EX+ or Mint-. EX is considered rough, which does not seem to describe your body.

Yeah, it's only got a tine speck missing from the corner. I didn't know how else to describe it...
