Fuji X Portraits

I often wonder what separates a portrait from a snap shot.

I am aware that there is a very wordy definition of "snap shot aesthetic", however, I see a snap shot as a quick grab and a portrait being an image that represents someone, usually where the face is the primary feature. So, a portrait can be a snap shot & vice versa. A portrait that is not a snap shot would likely be an image where a certain amount of planning has taken place.

I think its important not to get too caught up on labels or classifications, however, as, ultimately, you'll find yourself being to busy/agonising over what is and isn't something, instead of mast making the images. Labels are, inherently, quite restricting. A bit like calling oneself a "street photographer" instead of just a "photographer".

i notice a few are not!
