I often wonder what separates a portrait from a snap shot.
I am aware that there is a very wordy definition of "snap shot aesthetic", however, I see a snap shot as a quick grab and a portrait being an image that represents someone, usually where the face is the primary feature. So, a portrait can be a snap shot & vice versa. A portrait that is not a snap shot would likely be an image where a certain amount of planning has taken place.
I think its important not to get too caught up on labels or classifications, however, as, ultimately, you'll find yourself being to busy/agonising over what is and isn't something, instead of mast making the images. Labels are, inherently, quite restricting. A bit like calling oneself a "street photographer" instead of just a "photographer".

I like the way you've used the two images together, the one on the left being particularly good and the one on the right somehow adding something. Nice.

In fact it was such a good idea I felt inspired! Bet the people of Durham don't dress like this any more...

A good one, Marko. The poster on the wall (The Getaway, I guess) gives a nice boost to the image and the girl´s attitude.
